Submitting to AI Governance Review

AI Governance Review welcomes original scholarly and professional contributions that advance the theory and practice of AI governance. We publish work that is analytically rigorous, operationally grounded, and relevant to real-world oversight of artificial intelligence systems.

Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and published in quarterly volumes.

What We Publish

Manuscripts must align with one of the journal’s primary tracks:

Governance Frameworks
Lifecycle governance models, accountability architectures, escalation pathways, and organizational controls.

Telemetry and Oversight Methods
Governance metrics, audits, drift detection, monitoring systems, and integrity instrumentation.

Use Case Studies
Detailed examinations of AI deployments, including failures, near-misses, remediation, and lessons learned.

Standards, Guidelines, and Regulations
Interpretation and application of ISO, NIST, EU AI Act, and sector-specific governance standards.

Applied Methods and Tooling
Practical governance tools, templates, audits, and workflows supporting responsible AI deployment.

Submissions that do not clearly align with a track will be returned prior to review.

Manuscript Requirements

Authors must ensure that submissions meet the following baseline criteria:

• Original, unpublished work
• Clear research question or governance objective
• Proper citation and attribution using APA style
• Explicit discussion of governance implications
• Compliance with ethical and data-handling norms

Manuscripts may be theoretical, applied, or mixed-method, but must demonstrate relevance to AI governance in practice.

Article ID and File Naming Instructions

To ensure accurate tracking, review, and governance logging, all submissions to AI Governance Review must use a standardized Article ID. Authors are responsible for generating this ID prior to submission and using it consistently across all files and forms.

Step 1. Create Your Article ID

Use the following format exactly:

AIGR-[TRACK]-[AUTHOR]-[YYYYMM]-[SEQ]

Where:

  • AIGR = AI Governance Review (fixed prefix)

  • TRACK = Article track code

    • GF = Governance Frameworks

    • TO = Telemetry & Oversight

    • UC = Use Case Studies

    • SR = Standards & Regulation

    • AT = Applied Methods & Tooling

  • AUTHOR = Primary author initials (2–4 uppercase letters)

  • YYYYMM = Year and month of submission

  • SEQ = Two-digit sequence number (start with 01 if this is your first submission for that track and month)

Example Article IDs

  • AIGR-TO-AMT-202603-01

  • AIGR-GF-DR-202604-01

Step 2. Apply the Article ID to File Names

All submitted files must begin with the Article ID.

Required format:

  • Manuscript:
    AIGR-TO-AMT-202603-01.pdf

  • Source files (if applicable):
    AIGR-TO-AMT-202603-01.tex
    AIGR-TO-AMT-202603-01.docx

  • Figures or supplements:
    AIGR-TO-AMT-202603-01-fig1.png
    AIGR-TO-AMT-202603-01-supplement.pdf

Do not include spaces or additional descriptors before the Article ID.

Important Notes

  • The Article ID must match exactly between file names and the submission form.

  • Once assigned, the Article ID must not be changed.

  • Revised versions of a manuscript retain the same Article ID unless instructed otherwise by the editors.

  • Submissions with incorrect or inconsistent Article IDs may be returned prior to review.

Editorial and Review Model

AI Governance Review operates under a Transparent AI-Augmented Review (TAAR) process.

Review stages:

  1. Automated pre-screening for scope, citation integrity, and factual consistency

  2. Parallel AI-assisted analysis under strict non-retention conditions

  3. Human peer review by subject-matter experts

  4. Final editorial decision by human editors only

AI systems are used exclusively as decision-support tools. They do not determine acceptance or rejection.

Every published article includes a Peer Review and Governance Disclosure describing the review process used.

• Governed Data Boundary Policy (no AI training or retention)

Manuscript Submission

Manuscript Formatting Templates

To support consistency, academic credibility, and ease of submission, AI Governance Review adopts the standard Springer manuscript templates for both LaTeX and Microsoft Word submissions.

These templates are widely used across established academic journals and conference proceedings and provide a familiar structure for authors, reviewers, and editors. Their adoption ensures that manuscripts meet broadly recognized scholarly formatting conventions while remaining portable across publication venues.

Authors may submit manuscripts using either:

  • LaTeX Proceedings template, or

  • Word manuscript template

Both templates are provided for the author's convenience and may be downloaded from this site.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts comply with the journal’s content, citation, and ethical requirements in addition to the formatting guidelines.
